Jeremy Borouchoff Music Studio - About Me

Do you love music?   Have you ever wondered what it would be like to play a musical instrument and enjoy creating your own music?

For over 25 years, I’ve been teaching students ages 8 and up how to play Folk, Rock and Jazz guitar, how to sing, and how to train their ears to hear and interpret the songs they love, while learning the music theory behind it all.

I was educated at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music and have studied with some of the finest music educators in the U.S., like guitarists Ted Dunbar, Rich Boukas, Jack Grassel, Manty Ellis and George Pritchett.  I studied ear training, jazz theory and improvisation with Barry Harris, Berkeley Fudge and Tony King and Kodaly Musicianship with Laurdella Bodolay.   My performance career includes work as a guitarist and vocalist with Jazz, Rock, World/Ethnic and Sacred Music ensembles in Southeastern Wisconsin and New York, as well as appearances at Summerfest and on Milwaukee Public Television.

Whether you are just getting started or have had some lessons and want to take your playing to the next level, I can help you connect with your innate musical abilities and have fun while doing it.

It is so nice to be able to take lessons in the comfort of your own home. Cutting out the travel time for us was key! Also I really like the way the instructor teaches the lessons!

Jeremy knows his stuff, he has a wide array of books he uses to teach. He also notes your personal interests and suggests further reading and structures lessons around what you find fascinating. 10/10, would recommend.

Jeremy is an encouraging and patient teacher .He works with where you are. He is a true artist, a multifaceted musician and vocalist. He  has great insight and I learned so much in just one lesson. He makes learning fun and will challenge you a bit with some technique or a chord, but encourages you to be patient with yourself. It's like he just wants you to keep playing and not give up. I highly recommend his lessons.

Jeremy was my first and only guitar teacher. I loved studying with him and felt I got a well rounded foundation for my guitar playing from him, including some basics in jazz. Highly recommended!
